Composer and piano improviser Nicolas de Zorzi started out as a bassist in alternative music groups. Later trained in classical harmony at the conservatory, he has collaborated with singers, short-film directors and sound design agencies.
His encounter with star choreographer Carolyn Carlson in 2003 led him to devote himself to music for dance. He is the author of original soundtracks for several of her shows and soli: "Double Vision", "Immersion", "Wind Woman", "Synchronicity"... He also composes for other contemporary dance and hip-hop companies, in particular Brahim Bouchelaghem: "Hiya", "Sillons" then "Usure" in 2018; and currently for several documentaries produced by Hikari.
Nominated for a Qwartz Electronic Music Award for his album "Clepsydre" in 2009, his music combines contemplation and emotion, exploring electronic and minimalist genres. His pieces unfold like a succession of tableaux, soundscapes and organic pulsations.
